Kalima or كلمة is derived from the root letters of “kaf, lam, meem, he” which implies a number of meanings like – articulate, Book, formulate, give voice, Good Book, Holy Scripture, Holy Writ, phrase, Scripture, Scriptures or Word of God.

These are not found together complete in any one hadith or narration from the Prophet (peace be upon him). Keeping away from taking any dogmatic stand on the same and indulge in the remembrance of Allah’s greatness, its enough to recall the verse of the Qur’an …

The first of them, known as the ”kalimat tayyibah or “word of purity”, second is called the shahada, third “tamjeed”, fourth “tawheed”, fifth “istighfar” and sixth is called “radde kufr”. … There is no god but Allah, [and] Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.
